Stitching at International Art & Soul

Our theme this fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge is Stitching (real or faux).

The background paper is a yellow mulberry paper; not so easy to stamp on but I really like the texture. The patterned paper is from my stash. The quilted frame is a rubber stamp from Repeat Impressions. I fussy-cut the blocks & colored them with Copic markers. The sentiment is by Our Daily Bread Designs, and the outer stitching stamp is from a Scrapper's Paradise set. Everything was stamped in Memento brown ink. The stitched blocks are dies from Lawn Fawn's Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up set. I finished the card with some fluffy yarn.

Hot Colours at International Art & Soul

Our theme this fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge is Hot Colours.

To create the background, I inked a craft mat with hot pink & orange inks, spritzed it, and smooshed my smooth white paper on it. I like the watercolor effect.

The prickly pear cactus & lizard are die-cuts from my stash. I heat-embossed them in neon green. I heat-embossed the sentiment directly onto the background. The mulberry flowers were colored with Copics.

I recently won a gift certificate from Pink & Main, and couldn't wait to use my new Bubbly Border dies. I used neon embossing powders on the detailed top pieces, and cut the bases from neon papers.

Flowers at Crafting with Dragonflies

Our theme this fortnight at Crafting with Dragonflies is Lots of Flowers and/or Mother's Day.

I made this at a two-day crop in Prescott Valley, Arizona, using Pebbles papers. I didn't have a stamp I wanted to use, so I hand-wrote my sentiment on vellum that came in our crop goodie bag. Although I won't be with my Mom on Mother's Day, I've had a lovely visit with her. So thankful for her!

Inspiration/Challenges:
Quick Quotes Challenge #75: Mothers or Mother's Day
Scrapy Land Challenges: Anything with a Die brand sold at Scrapy Land (Lawn Fawn - Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up Dies)

Pilin' on the Animals

The theme this month at Pile It On is Animals. The only real rule is to be inspired by more than one papercrafting challenge. We're sponsored by Kitty Bee Designs, and our team had lots of fun with their Narwhal Love digi stamp.

I made a penny slider from this fun Bella Blvd paper. I didn't have my dies, so I used punches. I colored the adorable narwhal with Copics (B91, BG70, B60, W1) & added some sparkle with a glitter pen. It's so fun to move that little guy around the punny sentiment; maybe it's slapping some fish for dinner

Inspiration/Challenges:
Colouring in Scrapland: Anything Goes with a hand-colored image
Crafty Animals: Anything Goes with an Animal
Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge: Anything Goes with Patterned Paper (2nd entry)
