Neon Stars -- Punches/Dies at Crafting with Dragonflies

Our theme this fortnight at Crafting with Dragonflies we're making Cards featuring Punches and/or Dies.

I used dies to create the shaker windows, and filled the shakers with punched stars. The words are from a Jillibean Soup set, and are stamped onto the top acetate layers with StazOn ink. The neon papers are from Target/Kid Made Modern. I finished the card with black & white baker's twine.

...And a natural preservative!

We have a couple of wedding anniversaries in the family this week, so I made these simple cards featuring salt & pepper packets. This week's sketch challenge at Less Is More gave a place to start with the design, and I was also inspired by the fact that the salt & pepper packets that I used on the solid color card worked so well with this week's CAS-ual Fridays color challenge (Coral, Aqua, Gray).

I made a mask layer from white cardstock using a curved edge die, stamped the circle border from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps (using gray ink on the white & black ink on the coral), and heat-embossed it with a mix of chucky clear powder & glow-in-the-dark glitter. For the white card, I added a bit more clear chunky embossing powder to create a splash effect. I created the sentiment "Love is the Spice of Life" using the fonts Dimestore Hooker & Apple Chancery. The banner was handmade using a simple yet fun technique from s.e.i/Scor-Pal. The pepper packets on the white card and inked with VersaMark & QuickQuotes inks.

Miss You a Latte! -- Summer with the Coffee Loving Cardmakers

Happy Summer! A new season means a new Blog Hop with the Coffee Loving Cardmakers, and I always enjoy playing along. This time, I used the Hanging Charm Pull Tab die set from Karen Burniston/Elizabeth Craft Designs. It's in the mail to my folks right now!

The double-sided patterned paper is from BoBunny. The frame & coffee sleeve are cut from an actual cardboard coffee sleeve. The coffee cup is cut from shiny yellow, glitter yellow, and shiny green cardstocks. The sentiment & coffee bean stamps are from Stampin' Up. I added some dimension & detail with gold & red ViVa Pearl Pens. Because this card is sort of meant to lie flat, I put a message section directly on the back. Shows off that yummy paper too!

Flowers at International Art & Soul

Our theme this fortnight at the International Art & Soul Challenge is Flowers.

I created the shaker on the front with a plastic bag & my Fuse tool, and filled it with flower sequins from Paper Sweeties. The pieces were embossed/cut with a folder/die from Design Objectives Ltd. For the front, I used a black/red Core'Dinations cardstock, and sanded the raised parts to reveal the red. For the inside, I embossed a red paper & lightly inked the embossed portions with black ink. I heat-embossed the sentiment (a rubber stamp from the Artful Stamper) in white.

Cool Dad - To the Men in our Lives with the UnstampaBelles

The UnstampaBelles June challenge is To the Men in our Lives with the optional twist of Add an Animal. You can make whatever you like without using any stamps.

I made a tuxedo box card using instructions by Keren Howell, but I made mine smaller at 4 x 5.5 inches. The base & pop-up strips are patterned vellums. The penguins were cut from a patterned paper with a Cuttlebug die. My dad & I have a running joke about what "cool" means, so I created the sentiment & cut it out with a cloud die from Impression Obsession. I inked the cloud with a little Antique Linen distress ink. I used white paper to create message sections on the back.

Be sure to check out the fabulous projects by my teammates and hope you'll join the UnstampaBelles this month!

Pilin' on the Folds & Birds

The theme this month at Pile It On is Fancy Folds. Our mid-month optional bonus theme is Put a Bird on It. The only really rule is to be inspired by more than one papercrafting challenge. We're sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps.

I made a cascading card featuring Birthday Bird 04 by Bugaboo Stamps. I colored the image with Copic markers & cut it out with deckle scissors.

The sentiments Happy Birthday/Feliz Cumple & A little bird told me that today is your birthday/Me dijo un pajarito que hoy cumples años are from Dilo en Español Stamps. The latter is held in place with a wood veneer bird that I heat embossed in yellow.

The balloons were cut with Elizabeth Craft dies, and I tied little bits of blue satin ribbon to them.

Sunny Wishes - Sentiments at Crafting with Dragonflies

Our theme this fortnight at Crafting with Dragonflies we're making Cards featuring a Sentiment as the main focus.

I've been inspired by Mojo Monday sketches since 2011. I won some awesome Verve Stamps from them in 2011 and in 2015, and I've loved using them over the years. For this, my last chance at playing with their fun sketches, I used one of my all-time favorite sentiments, from their Let It Shine set (you can see my many uses of this set here).

All the papers/embellishments are from my stash/off-cut box. The faux patina strip is left over from a previous project. The speech bubble die is from Latina Crafter. TI distressed the pieces with Copper ink, and rounded the corners with a Kadomomaru Pro corner punch from Scor-Pal. he geckos were cut from an Arizona Green Tea can.

Pilin' on the Fancy Folds

The theme this month at Pile It On is Fancy Folds. The only really rule is to be inspired by more than one papercrafting challenge. We're sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps, and I used their hip & hilarious Unicorn Blocks set to create this concertina card.

I recently attended a two-day crop in Prescott Valley, Arizona, with my awesome Mom. There were about 25 crafters from around the area (we drove over 2 hours north just for the occasion!), lots of prizes, food & freebies, and there was also a small sale of gently-used stamps. That's where I got this cute stamp set with the unicorn, fairy, stars & sentiment. The rainbow/polka-dot-patterned and star papers are from my stash. I colored the images with Copics.

Shaken, not Stirred -- Anything Goes at Crafting with Dragonflies

Our theme this fortnight at Crafting with Dragonflies we're showing off our Cards, so Anything Goes. Looking forward to see what you share; and be sure to check out the Design Team inspiration cards.

I was inspired by olive-themed papers from Cosmo Cricket's Social Club paper collection. Along with the word art by TLC Creations, they make for a Bondified pun. The leather-textured papers & cork-patterned papers are from my stash. I edged the papers with a Kadomomaru Pro corner punch I won from Scor-Pal, and cut the shaker circles with Sizzix dies. The tiny martini glasses are from Memory Box's Party Glasses die set and are cut them from a scrap of red vellum.I also filled the shakers with blue microbeads & diamond dust.
